Professor Tavakoli is one of the best physics professors I have ever had. I had the pleasure of learning from him as a student in his Analytical Mechanics and Mathematical Physics courses at Isfahan University. He is a remarkable educator with great communication skills and passion for the subject matter. I had the pleasure to have Dr. Tavakoli as my professor for courses such as Classical Mechanics and Mathematical Methods in Physics. He was definitely without a doubt one of my best Professors at the University of Isfahan. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he was teaching, he had the ability to communicate that knowledge with us. His teaching was so effective, I kept using those concepts I learned in his class throughout my entire journey without a problem. He was always welcoming and extremely helpful during his office hours and I am glad I had him as my professor for some courses in my undergrad.
I know Dr. Tavakoli during my undergraduate studies in physics. He was my lecturer for mechanics, dynamic mechanic, and mathematical methods in physics courses. He was a great instructor as he thought us how to breakdown a problem into easier solvable parts. Additionally, at the end of each problem he would ask us to think of real life situations that were not considered in the problem (for example the ball spinning during a projectile motion) and how would that contribute to changes in final answer. I definitely learned a lot in his classes, in addition, he was very open to answering our questions and clarifying concepts for us.
I know Dr Amir Tavakoli since 2001 when I started my B.Sc. in physics. He was our lecturer back then. Soon after he became my mentor and his mentor-ship still helps me to go forward in my academic career. Amir is incredibly intelligent and a great problem solver. His approach – as much as I can tell – is based upon breaking every problem down to the very basic elements of it. That is not only useful in physics but in any other area. This is how Amir is a great problem solver. I can say Amir is an excellent consultant because of his ability to what I just mentioned – breaking down any problem to its basic components. In terms of interaction with others, I found Amir very ethical and extremely social. Furthermore , his ability to communicate with juniors is incredible. In terms of his personality, he is a very likable person and very easy to interact with. I wholeheartedly believe that Amir can handle a wide range of jobs due to his broad skills. I recommend Amir for any position which he considers suitable for himself. He is far more intelligent than wasting his time in a job not suitable for him. If he applies for a position or puts forward a business plan, most probably that is something he has thoroughly thought about so he can definitely handle it. The take-home-message to future business partners (or employers) of Amir is: he will not waste your time; he is not a time waster, he is a problem solver!
